A robust cold-chain package has three cooperating layers:

2. Phase-change coolant Gel packs or phase-change materials absorb heat at a stable temperature, avoiding freeze damage.
3. Right-sized geometry A snug box minimizes air volume so coolant works efficiently (validated by ISTA thermal protocols).

The ice cream brand cut soft arrivals from 8% to under 1% and trimmed coolant weight 15% by right-sizing the box. Temperature-validated packaging is the difference between a melted shipment and a repeat customer.
